John F. Mackey Joins Reznick Group as Principal

BETHESDA, MD – Reznick Group Managing Principal Kenneth E. Baggett today announced John F. Mackey, CPA has joined the firm as a principal, effective May 31. Mackey is a recognized leader in the affordable housing industry and has more than 30 years of accounting and business advisory experience. Mackey will be a member of the firm’s Real Estate Transactions Practice, headquartered in Bethesda, Md. and will also have an executive office in Boston, Mass.

Prior to joining Reznick Group, Mackey had been with Ziner, Kennedy and Lehan in Boston, Mass. since 1979 and most recently directed their real estate syndication services practice.

Mackey has a wealth of experience in long-range planning, structuring new real estate transactions and helping to realize value from older properties. At Reznick Group, Mackey will primarily focus on real estate transactional consulting.

Reznick Group’s Real Estate and Transactions Practice is dedicated to developing and evaluating transaction structures; providing tax compliance advice; evaluating tax credit recapture or tax-loss reallocation issues and syndication advisory services.

Mackey is also a leader in several professional organizations in addition to being a frequent speaker at national conferences and seminars. He is the president of the National Housing and Rehabilitation Association (NH&RA) and is also a member of the group’s board of directors and executive committee. Mackey serves as a member of the Tax Credit Steering Committee for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and is also a member of the advisory board of the Housing and Development Reporter.

Mackey graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western New England College in 1969 with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
