Joel Cohn Named Baltimore Office Co-Principal in Charge of Accounting, Tax and Business Advisory Firm Reznick Group; Mark Einstein now in Bethesda

BETHESDA, MD (October 25, 2004) — Kenneth E. Baggett, managing principal of Reznick Group, a national accounting, tax, and business advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Joel Cohn as co-principal in charge of the Baltimore office effective October 2004. In this role, Cohn will share responsibility for ensuring exceptional client service, developing the staff and growing the business of the firm’s Baltimore-based practice with William T. Riley, Jr. Riley has been a co-principal in charge of the Baltimore office since 2001. Cohn replaces Mark Einstein as co-principal in charge of Baltimore. Einstein will now serve as the co-principal in charge of the firm’s Bethesda office. Reznick Group’s Baltimore-based Practice was established in 1982; it currently has 170 people. Ranked the sixth largest firm by number of professionals in Baltimore and among the top 20th largest Certified Public Accounting firms in the United States; Reznick Group maintains five offices nationwide.

A principal in the firm’s national Real Estate Consulting Practice since 1999, Cohn joined Reznick Group (formerly Reznick Fedder & Silverman) in 1995 as a senior associate. Based in Baltimore throughout his tenure with the firm, he has provided real estate and tax consulting services to a diverse group of clients ranging from single-person development firms to international insurance companies. As an established real estate industry thought leader Cohn is a regular contributor to various accounting and real estate trade publications and is a frequent speaker and presenter on a variety of issues related to historic rehabilitations and the new markets tax credit program.

A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Cohn earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Towson University and a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola College in Baltimore. Prior to joining Reznick Group, Cohn was a real estate lender with Mercantile Bank.
