MEET THE NEW IGAF TEAM

In November 2002, the International Group of Accounting Firms decided to move its worldwide and North American headquarters from New Jersey to Georgia.

When IGAF decided to make this move, it was known that some valued, long-time employees would be lost and that some new positions would need to be filled. Although we will miss those that are no longer with us, we believe that our new IGAF team is strong, eager, and ready to aggressively take on the New Year.

Please take a moment to make yourself familiar with the new staff of IGAF – Worldwide/North America:

Kevin Mead – President, IGAF NA and Worldwide Operations
Kevin joined IGAF as President in 2002. Before joining IGAF, Kevin was the Director of Membership and Customer Relationship Management for TAPPI, a professional association in the pulp and paper industry.

From 1994 to 2001, Kevin worked for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in Altamonte Springs, FL. While at the IIA, Kevin held the positions of Manager of Conferences, Manager of Field Services and Manager of Certification Development.

Kevin has presented at seminars and conferences throughout Europe, North America and Asia on topics including risk, control and internal auditing. Kevin has also held internal audit and finance positions in companies such as Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Golden Rule Insurance and IBM.

Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in audit. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). In addition, he has published articles in journals including Internal Auditor and AHIMA Journal, and is the author of the internal audit chapter in Thompson’s International Encyclopedia of Business.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Kevin is also a soccer referee.

Anne Hampson – Manager of Online Services and Controller
Anne joined the IGAF team in January 1996. Her diverse duties range from Accounting to the Practice Management Survey to Website Management. Anne’s prior business experience includes: Assistant Controller for a Natural Foods Supermarket chain in the Boston area and Accountant for a Real Estate and Financial Management company.

As for her personal interests, Anne has toured worldwide as a singer and actress in several productions, such as The Phantom of the Opera. Anne also has a number of recordings on CD.

Judy Hermelink – Manager, Member Services
As one of the newest members to join IGAF, Judy comes to us with 12+ years of meeting planning experience. In addition to organizing IGAF meetings and events, Judy will also be handling our member firm Peer Reviews, Monster.com job ad management, the Duluth office administration and employee recruitment.

Judy was born in Selma, Alabama, but considers Anchorage, Alaska her hometown (brrrr!). She has one teenage daughter and has lived in the Atlanta area since 1993. Judy’s hobbies include camping, hiking and especially singing. She plays the piano and is currently touring with a national recording gospel artist on the weekends. Being of Spanish descent, Judy is also fluent in Spanish in addition to her many other talents.

Judy attended the University of Spain in Valencia, Spain.

Sara Folk – Manager, Member Services
Sara came on board with IGAF in November 2002. She will be managing several projects for IGAF. These projects include: Task Force telephonic meetings, the 2003 Membership Directory, implementation of new Marketing and Communication plans, Website development, and member survey management. Prior to joining IGAF, Sara worked for PracticeWorks, a company specializing in healthcare management software, as an Accounts Receivable Specialist and Contract Manager.

Sara was born in Omaha, NE and has since lived in many parts of the U.S., including Minneapolis, Albuquerque, New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Atlanta. She is married with no children (yet). In her spare time, she enjoys movies, novels, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Sara earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance, with a minor in Business Management.
